Crisis 1 & 2

So last night, we went to see The Dears over at Music Gallery. With a complete new lineup (minus Murray and Nathalia), and the fact that I haven't sample anything off their upcoming release, Missiles, I didn't really know what to expect from The Dears. I have to be honest, the first few new songs didn't really registered with me, however, when Nathalia stepped out of her keyboard station, and started singing one of the new tunes, Crisis 1 & 2, the concert really turned around for me.

Just as the band returned for their planned "encore", Murray had what he called his "Oprah Moment" and openly reflected on some of the issues/troubles the band went through. It's easy to dismiss this kind of thing as self indulgent, but his honesty was actually really moving. This episode definitely injected the band's subsequent performance of Meltdown in A Major with the added emotional punch. Missiles is slated to be released on October 21. You can pre-order it over at Maple Music.

Also, I guess I am back at blogging. A few months ago, I deleted my old blog (Just Keep Bloggin'), because I felt I don't have time to keep up with what's going on (as my good ol' student days are gone). Anyway, I am going to give this another go...
